Technology and Access

Our online courses are accessible from most laptop, computer and tablet devices with reliable broadband internet access. We recommend prospective course subscribers (learners) to test their device, sound, browsers, display and access with our ‘Free Trial Lessons’.

Certification, Copyright and Fraud Protection (Excluding Free Trail Lessons)

As part of our certification, copyright and fraud protection process, subscribers of our certification courses are required to provide identification to verify their identity and address. Access to the downloadable course books, (which are also protected with security measures, such as subscriber identifier watermarking), will only be given on receipt and approval of these identification documents, which normally takes 24-hours. You will be given access to a high-level security document security tool in order to upload scans or photos of your identification documents. These documents are not stored or shared, and access for approval purposes is restricted to limited trusted individuals in our organisation. During this short process learners can continue with their course learning modules.

Duration of Access

Duration of access to courses is as follows:-

In rare and exceptional circumstances access duration may be extended, and agreed by us in writing.

Duration of access to Taster, Trial and Non-Certification courses will be as advertised on the individual course subscription page.

Course Completion

In order to qualify for the attendance certificate and qualify to book the exam, subscribers (learners) are required to complete all modules in the correct order the first time they run through the course. We have also employed a drip feeding process over the first 1-8-weeks, to ensure adequate focus on each section of the course and help ensure all workshops are completed.

Exam Administration & Invigilation

There are two elements to our exam process ‘Exam administration’ and ‘Exam Invigilation’ (Sitting the exam)

We have a high pass rate for our examinations which require a 70% score to pass and receive the related qualification. Digital Skills Authority’s exam administration costs for the first exam attempt only are included with a subscribers course fees.

Longer Courses 60-days to 6-months* – In-depth exam

All our longer courses of 60-days to 6-months require a live examination either with Digital Skills Authority (‘Live Remote Exam with Invigilator), or in person at an ‘Authorized Testing Centre (ATC)’ internationally. Availability for in-person examinations is dependent on the individual ATC. Arrangement and payment is made directly with and ATC, and their own terms & conditions apply.  ‘Live Remote Exam with Invigilator’ exams are booked and fees paid to the Digital Skills Authority via our e-learning platform.

Our exam administration fee includes provision of testing centre contact and booking details, liaison and authorisation to allow the course subscriber to book an exam at the ATP (if available), issue of a unique COB Certified or Digital Skills Authority Candidate number, issue of exam papers to testing centre, marking and issue of results. For learners who pass their exam, the fee also includes issue of either printed examination certificate, digital certification and or / digital badging (depending on the course and availability). We are progressing toward an online credentials and certification system in the near future and printed certificates will be translated to an online credential once available.

Shorter Online Courses with In-Built Certification*

Our shorter courses have an in-built exam taken online. Some of the courses have a near instant exam result, and others with case study element, require examiner assessment.  We aim to issue exam results and certification within 1-6-weeks depending on the exam and volume of learners.

Fees

The fee advertised is the net price. Where taxes are applicable, these will be included within the price advertised, and will be detailed in the breakdown on the tax invoice / receipt.
